How can you have Joy without being happy, seriously? Isn’t it the same thing? I had that same idea for a long time, but I am here to tell you that it is not the same. And you can experience joy without being happy the same as you can have happiness but no joy. Stick with me.

Imagine a child getting an ice cream cone (happy) and the moment she takes her first lick, it falls to the ground (situation). That situation has changed her happiness to sadness in a single moment.

Joy, on the other hand, is a more heartfelt and natural emotion. It is less dependent on external factors and is deeply rooted within our being. It’s like a tree with deep roots that can stand firm no matter the weather. Joy comes from within and is not solely dependent on outside circumstances. It can be experienced even during challenging times.

Joy tends to be more long lasting. It can continue even when you’re facing troubles because it comes from a sense of contentment and inner peace. Joy is a deep sense of contentment, gratitude, and acceptance of life as it is.
