Being married and having kids doesn’t just automatically create a strong family. It takes work. I have no clue where we(I) got the idea that once we created a family, that we would live happily ever after… Everything is just supposed to naturally happen: Loving, patient mom, strong, but soft dad, smart obedient kids. Wrong! (My rant, sorry.)

But, on the other hand, if mom or dad explains that some people just have bad days and are unable to express their feelings in a healthy way, that taking anything without permission or without paying for it is dishonest, and that we should value our home by taking good care of it, those are the values and ethics that will be taught.
